The
Astrological Bangle, shown at right, was made popular by Paramhansa Yogananda,
author of the spiritual classic Autobiography of a Yogi. Yogananda's guru,
Sri Yukteswar, created the Astrological Bangle formula based on very precise
weights of pure gold, silver, and copper. You can read more about astrological

I have been responsible for the General Purpose Astrological Bangle for Ananda Church since 1985. The formula was given by Sri Yukteswar to Paramhansa Yogananda, and then to Swami Kriyananda, a direct disciple who once was Vice President of Self Realization Fellowship. Swamiji gave me the formula and the responsibility in 1985, and I use the exact formula as passed on by Sri Yukteswar, even using the method of joining the ends as Master did. Each bangle contains pure copper, pure silver, and over a Troy Ounce of pure (99.999%, 24Kt, fine) gold. They are an open bracelet that can be circled to fit any arm.
The three metals are heavy gauge wires that are weighed to match the Sri Yukteswar formula, and then twisted, joined at the ends and polished. The ends are left simple (and not covered with a ball), as this is the way Yogananda had them made at Mt. Washington before he left the body.
